PRESIDENCY OF THE SECURITY COUNCIL FOR FEBRUARY: LUXEMBOURG
LUXEMBOURG'S SUPPORT FOR WOMEN, PEACE AND SECURITY IN THE SECURITY COUNCIL
Luxembourg, as an elected member of the Security Council, has emphasized its role as the Chair of the Working Group on Children and Armed Conflict, and has supported the other thematic agendas, including women, peace and security. Luxembourg also continues to link its work with the Peacebuilding Commission with work on the Security Council.
Luxembourg's relevant international commitments include
: Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court (ratified 8 September 2000); Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) (Ratified 2 February 1989)
